For New Projects and Product
Development:
Fairway Medical Technologies can assist you with all phases
of your product development. Upon your initial contact with
Fairway, we will follow this general process to help you
determine how Fairway’s team might provide the expertise
that your project needs.
1. Complete and submit the Preliminary
Consulting Form online or email us at
contact@fairwaymed.com to initiate a brief meeting at
Fairway to discuss what you would like to do: Develop a new
product, modify an existing one, conduct Research and
Development including the submission of Grants for joint
collaboration, make FDA submissions, perform clinical
testing, or develop a basic business plan.
2. If you are affiliated with an institution or organization
that may own the intellectual property rights to your
invention, we will ask that you contact your
Office of Technology Transfer to
ensure that you have followed your institution’s protocol
for discussing new technologies with an outside entity. You
will be asked to acknowledge a notification of this
responsibility by signing a form. It is highly advised that
you complete this form even before making the first contact
with Fairway so that there will be no chance of breaching
your contractual responsibilities regarding proprietary
information disclosure.
3. We will then arrange for a meeting at our main offices to
review your project. Please contact your
Office of Technology Transfer, where applicable, to
advise them of this meeting in advance. We will ask you to
not disclose confidential information at this first meeting.
We have provided a list of the major Institutions that
Fairway has dealt with in the Houston area, along with links
to their Technology Transfer websites
and their personnel who can assist you.
4. At the initial meeting we will determine if a
Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) will be required by Fairway,
and we will review your position with your Office of
Technology Transfer at this time as well. Generally, the
NDA's provided by recognized Institutions are acceptable for
use by Fairway. If you do not represent an Institution, we
will consider your own NDA as well as provide Fairway’s NDA
to determine which is most suitable.
5. After the initial meeting, we will establish guidelines
for a follow up meeting once the appropriate NDA's are
executed. This second meeting will enable us to go into the
details necessary to create a plan to progress through
whichever development phases are applicable. The resulting
plan will include timelines and costs with suitable
milestones.
